Gulftreat Tributes

Summer 2007 was a momentous time for the Presbytery's camping ministry.  It was the last summer at Gulftreat, the Presbytery's camp at Panama City Beach, where generations of young campers had gathered for fun, fellowship, worship, and inspiration.  At a final closing ceremony, campers from across the Presbytery gathered to share the indelible mark that the Presbytery's Gulftreat camping ministry had left on their lives.

Responding to the question, "Where have you experienced God at Gulftreat?" campers shared these thoughts and reflections:

“ Where have I experienced God at Gulftreat? Where have I not experienced God at Gulftreat? In music, in cleaning up the kitchen, in walking on the beach, in small group, on the gazebo. In mentioning to a child that it’s time to take a shower. In pleading with a child to please take a shower. In physically placing a child in the shower. In the sound of campers’ voices singing. In middle of the night homesick tears. In finding my wife.” (Andy)
