Housing Options and Retreat Rates (these rates are per person and all inclusive-rooming, food, and programming for the retreat):
  • Bunk-style Cabins- $150
    • Living River has 6 bunk-style cabin has two single beds and 8 bunk beds. Retreat participants will be spread out amongst the bunk-style cabins so no cabin will be overcrowded.
    • This is a great option for groups, families, or any retreat participant!
    • Each bunk-style cabin has two shared toilets and two shared showers. 
    • The registration form has space to describe if you'd like to be in a cabin with specific other retreat participants. ​
  • Private Room with a Shared Bathroom in Shades Valley Lodge- $200
    • The newly renovated Shades Valley Lodge has 8 bedrooms, each shares a bathroom with one other room (Jack and Jill). The registration form has space to describe if you'd like to share your bathroom with specific other retreat participants. 
    • Each lodge room has 2 twin beds. 
    • Two retreat participants can register together to share a room in the Lodge (would cut registration cost to $350 total for both participants).
  • Motel-style Room with a Private Bathroom- $225
    • Three of the motel-style rooms have queen beds and three have 2 twin beds.
    • Two retreat participants can register together to share a motel-style room (would cut registration cost to $400 total for both participants).
Retreat and Open House Schedule:
Friday night:
  • Dinner, 5:30-6:30 pm
  • Keynote Speaker- Beth Stewart, Executive Director, Cahaba River Society
  • Option- Small Group Discussion
  • Campfire Singing, Stargazing, S'mores
  • Option- Vespers

Saturday:
  • Breakfast
  • Option- Leave for Cahaba Lily Festival Program and Lunch
  • Option- Beginner Birding Outing with AL Audubon
  • Option- Field Trip to visit Cahaba Refuge (best lilies location)
  • Lunch
Living River Day Begin (Spring Open House)
  • Options- Print Making with Friends of Shades Creek, Canoeing at Living River, Hiking, Labyrinth and Self-guided Spiritual Activities, and Free Time
  • Hors d'oeuvres and Refreshments
  • Keynote Speaker- Scot Duncan, Author of Southern Wonder: Alabama's Surprising Biodiversity and Executive Director, Alabama Audubon
  • Living River Presentation including Bedrock Donor Recognition (click here to find our more information about Bedrock Donors)
  • ​Option- Small Group Discussion
  • Campfire Singing, Stargazing, S'mores
  • Option- Vespers
Sunday:
  • Breakfast

  • Option- Hiking
