Below is a list of future projects we believe will help Living River grow.
Please reach out to our Executive Director, Jenny Thagard, with any questions or connections.

  • A second adult lodge next to the Shades Valley Lodge to double our adult retreat or small group capacity! The Shades Valley Lodge has 8 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a kitchen, and two gathering spaces. We hope the second house will have a similar capacity. Lodges are excellent for small groups who want greater comfort or more privacy.
  • Paving the road to Living River's office and all the way to the lake. Wouldn't that be wonderful!
  • Water and electric lines run to Williams Landing and the lake.
  • A shed to cover our canoe trailer.
  • Improvement of the disc golf course.
  • A new, commercial push mower.

All of Living River's facilities are now 10 years old! All buildings need the following regular maintenance. Donations to support facilities' needs can be made to Living River's designated Capital Improvements fund.
  • Painting their interiors.
  • Replacing water heaters and HV/ACs as needed.
  • Fixtures as needed.

Potential Eagle Scout Projects:
  • Improvements to primitive camping area (a pavilion area or water access).
  • Improving a trail with a picnic area in a great viewing spot of the river.
  • Creating a worm bed for fishing at the lake.
  • Creating a butterfly milkweed garden for environmental education.
  • Improving the low ropes course.
