Again this year, there is a “Bring a Friend” discount! Please be an advocate for Living River and encourage your child's friends to attend. Living River Summer Camp is for all kids and youth and your recommendation to friends and family goes the furthest. All are welcome at Living River!

What's different about Creative Camp? Creative campers get to do everything that campers of other sessions get to do like canoeing, swimming, games, etc. The only difference is the addition of two art sessions a day, one that is craft and art focused and another that is music and dance focused. Because Creative campers spend more time on art than the other sessions, they'll have slightly less recreation time, but the time playing and in nature is still a prominent part of this session!

Maximum Capacity- Finally, Living River Summer Camp sessions will be capped at 60 campers each for Summer Camp 2025. Thank you!
What is Summer Camp like at Living River?

Youth and kids are invited to discover more about God, their own faith, the world, and themselves through keynotes, small groups, hands-on activities, asking questions, and having meaningful discussions. The Presbyterian Church (USA) values curiosity, wonder, expansive understanding of history and cultures, practical skill building (service to neighbor, variety of prayer strategies, etc.), and assurance of each person's belovedness to God in its faith formation of children and youth. At Living River, we focus on building camper's comfort and confidence with their faith by learning the stories of the Bible and encouraging campers to participate in discussion about the Scriptures' meaning by asking questions and sharing their own experiences of God. When kids and youth are invited into spiritual discussion, it's easier for them to understand that their story is a part of God's story and that it's safe to ask questions about God, creation, and their faith.

Camp at Living River fosters a love of nature and good stewardship of creation by spending lots of time outdoors, learning about nature, and caring for it. Environmental partners such as the 4-H Extension, Alabama Forestry Commission, Alabama Paleontological Society, Cahaba Riverkeeper, Cahaba River Society, and more offer unique learning experiences to campers.

Living River and its staff and counselors prioritize creating a safe and fun environment for all campers and volunteers, welcoming campers and volunteers of any demographic and faith background. Living River and its staff and counselors work hard to make camp a positive and inclusive experience by making sure all campers feel included and accommodating different needs.

Campers experience all kinds of camp fun at Living River including archery, a low ropes course, swimming, canoeing, games, fishing, hiking, bonfires, and so much more!
